Masterplug 8 way remote control surge protector - £9.99!

£9.99

FOUND BY: johncas 1 year, 7 months ago

Picked up a Masterplug 8 way surge protected extension for £9.99 at Home Bargains today.

6 of the sockets are controlled by the remote control and 2 are designated as 'always on'

A great way for lazy people like me to save power while still being lazy! And RRP was £29.99!

I saw these earlier today as well in the Doncaster store. They also had one with ethernet, modem and telephone adapters built in for a similar price.

Yeah I bought the one with the phone and ethernet ports from the Middlesbrough store only £8.99. Compared to Argos an absolute bargain.

I don't understand this, the words remote control are confusing me. Is it a multi socket extension with a separate remote control or is it an energy saving device like the Argos one controlled by switching the device in the master socket? Either way it's hot.

Be cautious of these; I've had 2 go bad on me now. The first time it was after a few days, so I took it back to Argos and got a new one, and the second time it was after 2 months so wasn't covered by their guarantee.

its remote works on radio waves 30 meter range. the 6 remote sockets are all on all off not one at a time if you get me? Which means u have a remote that can turn on and off 6 things that are plugged into it at the same time. The netto/aldi remote sockets have the same range but are individual so you can turn off and on 3 diffrent things individually they are normally 8.99/9.99.

I just grabbed the last one in the Harborne, Birmingham store. I haven't set it up yet but the remote has ALL ON and ALL OFF buttons as well as ON and OFF buttons labelled 1,2,3 and 4. There is also a sliding selector with options I,II,III, and IV. It comes with a wee little 12V battery. No instructions though. Anybody know what the roman numeral slider is for?
