In advance of the new album to be released online by David Byrne and Brian Eno, their official site has a free download of the first single - 'strange overtones'. It is a great song. Personally can't wait for the album's release as the best Talking Heads material came out of the eno collaboration. If this song is anything to go by, then it will be something special.

Incidentally, I've never posted on the freebies board before, so apologies if not following appropriate form.

Just one thing to point out before anyone jumps on me. You need to enter an email address to gain access to the download. I think this is fair enough, plus Byrne himself assures us that they will only use the email to inform of updates on the album and tour. Plus, to be honest, who doesn't have a separate email account that they use for junk and mailing lists.

My pleasure, it's nice to share something like this, as I was really excited to see the album was being released and that the download was available.

If you are into the David Byrne side of things, then you may or may not know of another single that has recently come out with his involvement. It called 'Toe Jam' and was released under the name of BPA - The Brighton Port Authority. It is put together by Fat Boy Slim with David Byrne on vocals. The song is good, but the video is hilarious. It is a must see. Watch it through. Very funny:

Full album available as of yesterday. Can be streamed for free from the website (click on original link) or downloaded for about a fiver.
