It's just a new format. Don't give into these prices. The price is going to drop, not go up. Don't forget that those retailers selling HD-DVDs at bargain basement prices are still making a profit.

Personally think this is a hot deal - so what if a few of them can be bought cheaper? Many of them can't be had for anywhere near this price.

i hav a 32inch samsung hd ready 1080 television and i cannot tell the different between normal dvd and a blue ray.. i have spiderman and speed on blue ray and play them on my ps3 and cannot see an obvious difference at all

Probably down the to the PS3s fantastic upscaling ability, however if you watched a dvd and then watched the blu-ray version you would see a difference.
