I like the way they sneakily tell you, that the monitor isn't included as part of the price, i'm not saying this isn't a good deal though.

Looks good, just going to check ebuyer now see how much they are to build, will check the cheapest desktop, otherwise i can imagine me been sat here doing this for a while.

good find though fozey, my eyes lit up like a xmas tree when i saw the link

I'm a big fan of Novatech having spent perhaps £15,000 with them in the last few years on behalf of friends and family. They are not always the cheapest but their service is excellent and I have never had a problem with quality. I use one of their notebooks and have built a PC using one of the bundles for myself and both are excellent.

Well worth a look!

I used to work for them for 3 years. Service is good there, especially the tech support lines as they are monitored to answer calls very quickly.

BUT I wouldnt buy a laptop from them. I tend to build my own PC's so wouldnt really buy a PC as they tend to use the cheapest boards they can get hold of, it was elite (part of PCchips brand) plus they are assembled by people on minimum wage that have pictures in front of them to help them put the components in the correct place.

So if you know someone wants a cheap PC with no monitor, then they are OK.

If you want a Laptop - go for a Dell !

Remember that for laptops, it's not just a case of "fit as much of everything in the box and sell for cheap".

There are other considerations, such as heat, to bear in mind. I saw a Tiny laptop a few years ago that was £1000 but way above competition, and Novatech's similar version was just a bit more. Sony and Acer were about £300/£400 (if more) more expensive for the same spec, but I ended up going for the Acer through ebuyer.

You can't just lump a huge HDD, loads of RAM and a giant processor if there's no air in the box for the thing to breathe -- with desktops this is totally different as they're actually big inside.

That said, I've had many novatech desktops before, and never had a single problem. Had a TFT that lost a button inside the case when I pushed it too hard to turn it off, and they also arranged for pick up of that too.

For laptops, I'd stick to the traditional brands however.
