The reviews and picture are for the expertvision / palit ( same thing) 9600gt with the uprated cooler and Hdmi connection,If this is the actaual card you get then this is a real bargain and is almost as fast as a 8800gt in most games and slightly faster in some others and also uses quite a bit less power,The 9600gt also proves to be a far better option for Sli and to say this is only a little bit more expensive than the hd3850 this is much much faster and has roughly the same power consumption,Hot Hot Hot,

I was waiting for it to come down to this price but already bought the 8800GS when it was £45, oh well.

Very hot deal!

No novatech do not make any components. It will be the cheapest one they can get hold, might even be an oem.
Their PCs are made up from the cheapest somponents they can find such as fox / elite etc.
Their MD is a small man with a big ego, and likes to pretend he manufacturers stuff and keeps the 'novatech' brand so its harder to google for a like for like.

It’s pretty normal for retailers to brand OEM computer stuff as their own; Dabs, Overclockers, Scan, CCL and others do it. Sometimes their product codes give away the identity of the item so you know in advance what you’re getting.

Can anybody offer any advice on how this card compares to the 3850 ATI card posted on here last week? - is it worth the extra tenner?

Currently have the Saphire 3650 and am considering an upgrade in order to allow me to play Crysis on slightly higher settings.

It depends on the other components in your system. Typically for a modern PC a good quality 300W P/S would suffice.

If you just google 'GeForce 9600GT' you'll find that the normal price is about £68 anyway... so not much of a saving in my opinion

For info on how they compare including Crysis try Techreport.

It does well against the HD 3870 - Anandtech so easily worth £10 more than a 3850.

Am I missing the point? Coz this appears to be a US only item, and therefore has no relevance, unlike, as I say I am missing the point??
