Freeview+ ?

How comparable (sp?) is Sky+ to a freeview PVR such as this one http://www.microdirect.co.uk/ProductInfo.aspx?ProductID=28382&source=Kelkoo

I was playing with Sky+ at a friends house last night and it really is amazing, however i don't want/can't afford/not allowed Sky, so am just wondering whether one of the boxes above would be similar, obviously the layout and design would be different, but would the features be the same? like series link etc.

Anybody got experience of both?
