my point exactly!

a lot of fishy foods these days, including many of the omega 3 stuff are made from a mixture of white fish.
so it may be haddock, cod, bass etc

this completely puts me off!!!

thats why i buy cod or haddock fillets

its just a clever ploy for these companies to profiteer. mix lots of different fishes into a fish steak/finger and slap an omega 3 label on it.

These were on offer a while ago for a quid in Tesco. I seem to remember them being Pollock. Not very big but good for the price.

adam2116, cod stocks are low and will get even lower and more expensive.

Many manufacturers are switching to more sustainable fish to keep costs down. There are plenty of different types of fish out there, and its in our interests to try them so that we don't end up pushing cod to extinction.

Ever tried gurnard?, plenty of them in British waters and they taste just like cod.
