Had to renew my car tax this month and they said that I would be entered into a prize draw to win a Seat car if I renewed it on the internet rather than going to the Post Office. However, the competition is actually open to anyone, no purchase necessary, if you follow the link. I don't know anything about this particular car, but a car's a car at the end of the day, and I'm sure you could sell it if you won and didn't want it.
The literature I received with my tax disc application says that there's three cars to be won this month.

What information will DVLA collect about me? When you enter the free prize draw, we will ask for personal information about you. This will consist of:
Your name
Email address
Postal address
By entering these details in the fields requested, enables DVLA and our service providers to enter your details into the prize draw and successfully contact you if you win.
How will DVLA use the information they collect about me?
DVLA will ONLY use your personal information for the purpose of contacting you regarding the awarding the prize if you are a winner.
How long will DVLA keep the information they collect about me for the prize draw?
DVLA will only keep your personal information for 5 weeks (35 days) after the closing date of the prize draw, after which it will be destroyed.
Will DVLA share my personal information with anyone else?
We will keep your information confidential except where disclosure is required or permitted by law (for example to government bodies and law enforcement agencies). Generally, we will only use your information within DVLA, however, sometimes DVLA uses third parties to process your information. The DVLA will require these third parties to comply strictly with its instructions and the Data Protection Act 1998. DVLA service providers are also contractually required not to use or access your personal information for their own business purposes.

Personal data collected via this website will be used only for the purpose of this prize draw, and not processed for any other purpose. The data will be used to identify and contact the winning entrant, and may be made available to Promoveritas, the independent adjudicator appointed to oversee the prize draw, to ensure that it is conducted fairly and equitably.
Information provided by this site is being held, on behalf of DVLA, by Rackspace. Rackspace are not permitted access this information for any purpose. Data is not available to other companies or organisations.
Retention of information:
Information provided on this site will be securely stored until the prize draw closes. As soon as practicable after this time, data will be transferred via secure electronic transfer to DVLA where each entry, along with entrants from the electronic vehicle tax service, will be allocated a unique identifier number. These numbers will then be provided to Promoveritas who will, at random, select the winning entries.
The personal data provided will be retained by DVLA for a period of approximately 5 weeks after entries for the draw close. This is to ensure that should a redraw need to take place for any reason the original data will still be available. After this time has elapsed, all information will then be securely destroyed.
