I have been trying to decide if I should get rid of my old premium (20gb no HDMI) and buy an elite or the new 60gb.

Think this has just swayed me. More money spend.

This is not a bad deal, but for £20 more you can get this one:

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/24527...d.php?t=245277

Which has 3 games.

Okay, the games aren't exactly top-of-the-line, but I am thinking of upgrading my 2nd hand (eBay bought) premium 20gb console, and I don't have any of those games, so it's a lot better.

Incidentally, does anyone know how I would go about getting my account details (and Gold membership) onto a new Xbox if I bought one?

I would get a V Card for this offer - gives 5% = £11 off minus £2 cost = £9 off

At play.com

Does the Elite now have the new chipsets, and is it as noisy as the Premium?

Not sure what to go for really, the Elite or the Premium. Not overly worried about the disk space, really would prefer a quieter XBOX which has the latest chipset. But obviously if the Elite is exactly the same build as the Premium (except for larger hard drive) then I'd probably opt for that.

- I was reading last night that there have been no sightings of the Jasper motherboard (the one with the 65nm CPU and 65nm GPU) yet
but it is expected to appear after stocks of the older Zephyr boarded models (the ones with the 65nm cpu and a 90nm GPU) have been sold out.

That's why I'm waiting a couple of weeks
(and by then we can expect to have reasonably sound info on what to look for and how to spot the difference).

The Zephyr model is undoubtedly an improvement but it's pretty obvious that Jasper is the one to go for if you can wait.
Zephyr already can be easily identified & spotted by it's use of a 175w PSU (down from 205w IIRC)
and it's expected that Jasper will be even less juice hungry and more energy efficient with a PSU around 150 - 160w.

As far as I can make out the XBox 360's noise problem (since the Zephyr update) has largely been about it having to constantly read from the DVD.
The new dashboard update coming soon will fix this as you will be able to load the whole game to the HDD and it will be read from there not a noisy spinning disc.

If you mean the old 20gb Premium then NO it is nothing like the old Premium, All the new models are 175w Falcons with Benq dvd drives, the super quite fans and run very cool and if you are used to the older 200+w model you will probably double check it is on as the noise is so quite now in comparison.
If you played a game for a couple of hours on the old Premium and then touched the supply it got very hot whereas these new 175w models the power supply gets warm at best, as it should be..

@ Gixxerman001
Zephyr was the old noisy model the latest is the Falcon and the Japser is not yet even confirmed by MS.
Valhalla is also another "Rumored" unconfirmed chipset which combines the CPU and GPU onto one 65nm chip
You could wait forever if you just rely on the rumors.
