I have searched everywhere, there is no fact on the speed of read and write for this 16GB nor the 8GB. Could someone do some speed measurement on the 8GB and 16GB if you have one? Say how many minutes or hours to fill an 8GB

is there any reliabilty issues with different brands of flash memory sticks? I've always had sandisk sticks with no problems at all. I've got a 4giger thats almost full, so looking to upgrade soon, 16gb will last me ages but I don't want to buy this if its only gunna last a year! any recommendations?

I've spotted a sandisk cruzer 16gb for under £33 on amazon, worth the extra doh?

Spoke to Lexar product support (01483 797 788) and was provided with the following info :-

Read speed - 10 Mbs
Write speed - 5Mbs

Hope that helps

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820191026

doesn't seem to be that fast ,not too sure if the 16gb would be any better

It would take the best part of an hour to write 16GB to this drive!

On the speed side , I wait for some actual facts first before I buy. Lexar states the write speed in its literature when it is fast > 6Mb/s , does not state it when it is slow. I have a sandisk 8GB microSD in its sandisk flash adapter and it gets warm in use. I can understand why a couple of years' ago Lexar had to recall its 4GB Firefly because some burst into flames in use due to overheat. A 16GB stick is pretty dense in microchip when you compare it with the size of DDR memory in your PC! If it is fast at 16GB £20.99 delivered is a hot bargain. Infact it is hot deal even when it is slow speed as it is a lot of GB for archive even if you don't write more than 2, 4 GB at a time.

I just bought one these, so far I am impressed with it, good speed/size and fits into key ring nicely. Although I am little worried about casing as it does not look or feel solid at all.

I use two of these in my 360 (the White model - matches perfectly to my 360 case with its funky neon blue light) for loading divx stuff into. Works a treat! :O
