Surprised to not see a voucher submitted on this one. I bought a varsity card after reading about it here.

Card costs £3 delivered, but discounts far outweigh the cost. Good for those non-students who don't have a valid UCAS student card.

Card is £2 and then £1 for delivery so technically £3 delivered, not £2.

I may have this wrong, but want to check anyway!

I have a Varsity card, having got my sister to get me one (as I live in Northern Ireland!).

The official site is www.varsitybars.cpm, which is registered to Barracuda Group Ltd.

This deal links to http://www.varsitymanchester.co.uk/index.htm which is registered to 'Unknown' at 141, Chorlton Road, Loreto Place, Manchester, M15 4JG.

The official site states that you can only get a card in one of its bars. So I would be very weary of purchasing a card from the www.varsitymanchester.co.uk site and this may be the reason for the person who purchased a card and didn't receive it......!

Maybe the site is run by some of the Manchester Bar staff - but I personally don't think it is very reliable!

Just my thoughts anyway....

Voted cold for this post, but the actual 5% is hot!

i heard if youre lucky to be a student or know one really well then you get 5% off with a UCAS card aswell. then quidco on top, makes the credit crunch look small

Hi Sing2Trees, read the varsity card post listed in the OP. Many have purchased, many have received... And besides, by your own reasoning, this 'deal' is hot .. so don't really understand the cold vote.

I bought my card from the varsity manchester site, paid through paypal and got it in a couple of days.

Hi k9plus,

I understand your comments - I just personally would be weary of giving any money, regardless of how little, to this site - as it isn't the official site!

But yes - I also appreciate that some people have bought the cards and received them - on the other hand, some haven't!

Six of one and half a dozen of the other!

Maybe I was too hasty with a cold vote - just wanted to advise people to be careful when using a non-official site.

If you can pop into a Varsity Bar - that is probably the safest bet - and then enjoy your 5% off at Play.com, Blockbusters and others too!!!
