Ignore the naysayers. A 42" LCD for £399 from the high-street is a good deal in anyone's books. If it goes wrong you can always return it. It's not like you're buying from pixmania or something

I scanned the reciept thingy if anyone wants to track it down
it'd make a mighty fine monitor for a PC i suppose since it's a VA screen

Yeah but LCD tvs there really is a huge element of you get what you pay for. Some of the cheap (300-400 quid) sets I've seen look absolutely awful compared to the higher end sets. I think it's quite important to shop around and do research when buying one of these.

Interesting deal though, thanks to the OP for finding it.

I got this TV yesterday, the Woking store didn't have it on display or advertised, and they had 2 in stock. I'm used to watching my housemates 1080p 42" toshiba, so I'll give you my first impressions.

GTA IV looks pretty good on it, though not totally sharp. I believe the game runs at less than 1080 so probably due to scaling artifacts. Colours are as good, or nearly as good as the toshiba.
I also played a DVD through the xbox 360, looks very good but on things like moving water there was more artifacting than on the toshiba tv, must have better processing. However, this is just showing up the flaws of the source video!
Freeview tv looks very good, well scaled, didn't notice any artifacting. Alot better than virgin cable tv looks on the other tv!

All in all, quite happy with it.

IT IS DOWN TO THE RESPONSE TIME OF THE MOITOR/TV!! THIS 1 HAS 6.5 M/S RESPONSE TIME IF YOU GOT ENOUGH BUCK TO DO IT YOU WOULD BUY 1 WITH 3 M/S RESPONSE AND THEN YOU WON'T GET MUCH BLUR AT ALL
