A huge wooden train collection set, with trains, bridges, crossings - you know the kind. And funny enough, my just-turned 7-year old son has been talking about listing his collection for sale. Santa brought him the bulk of it when he was four and we've added bits and pieces in the meantime. Just saying...

Unfortunately they want to play too much.....small bike is not a bad idea. They might not be co-ordinated enough for a scooter (which is another possibility).

How about a wooden train set? they'll happily spend hours laying out the tracks and you can get remote control engines...

Edit - I hate it when I actually agree with Liddle on something.....

I got my little boy a second hand original ds when he was 3 and he loved it so this year he's 4 and im getting him a new ds lite, im also gonna get him some mobilo because he plays with it at nursery and every day comes home raving about it and its a brilliant educational toy to get ther imagination going, i have already decided this year instead of getting him loads of stuff hes not gonna play with im getting him things that uses his imagination, i might get him a multi storey garage with cars ect too, hope this helps a little bit

And you can either buy the brand name (Brio) track or the stuff much cheaper stuff from Tescos (both are interchangeable)

totally agree, trainset is best for 3 and if he's co-ordinated then a small 3 wheel scooter would be good.

I have a 3yr old and bowling is about the only thing she can play on the wii.

My son enjoyed the v smile consol between 3-5 too, that might be good.

Good luck
