Many PC items @ cost + £1 (+delivery) from MoreComputers.co.uk (inc Laptops/EEE PC/Satnav/RAM/etc)

FOUND BY: Rob_B 1 year, 1 month ago

As a way to get a bit of footfall to their site morecomputers.co.uk have been asking members of the Hexus forums for products they'd like to see at cost + £1.

There are now 21 products that are reduced in price to this level. Visit the site & search for 'special product hex' to see them. These can be bought by anyone & range from laptops to hard drives, mice, satnav, RAM, earphones etc

Some CAN be found cheaper elsewhere, & i'm suprised margins can be so low on some things (ie laptops!) but hopefully someone will get a bargain or two & make this worthwhile.

No, cost price (ie what it costs the company to buy them) + £1

As mentioned some products will be found cheaper due to either loss-leading or larger purchasing power but still worth a look for the sake of a mouse click.

I find it hard to believe that they're paying nearly £300 for an EEE 1000 (the cheaper model at that).

I have no reason to doubt what I've been told but of course have no control over that. A quick google shows that model @ £330ish (many excl VAT) in most places so actually that would probably be about right considering margins.

It all depends how they calculate "cost"
Like any co. they will have an ordering cost, a delivery cost, a stocking cost, a handling cost, an admin cost, an interest cost, an inspection cost, a repacking cost, all on top of the actual invoice cost of the item they're selling on.

Likely, I haven't voted either way yet. If they want footfall all they have to do is price the EEE 1000H at £275 inc. delivery.

yeah probably running it at maybe no profit, but covering every cost possible...including boss fuel to go screw the assistant in the local hotel...oh and the hotel!

Read the original post properly & you'll see it says some items can be found cheaper elsewhere (I've CAPPED the word 'CAN' so others do not make this mistake) The EEE is a good deal at under £300, bother to look if you like.
£9.99 great! Try to find one, i'm selling them for 50p but oops haven't any in stock.

Well I have had a good look but sorry it's not that cheap at all. Infact a lot of the stuff is blinkin expensive.

Thanks for the post but for a good shopper it's not worth it.
