1 ltr UHT skimmed milk still 41p @ Lidl... Tesco, Sainsburys & Asda are selling for 54p!!!

Hi all, I was shocked when went shopping to my local Tescos to find that in only 4 days the price of their UHT value ltr skimmed milk increased from 41p to 54p... that's 13p, outrageous I say, so walked for a couple of minutes to Lidl to find they have them still at 41p.
Then checked online prices @ Sainsburys and Asda: their prices are the same as Tescos, so I'm guessing very soon Lidl will increase the price as well, but being UHT milk it will be OK until sometime in March so bought lots. Hope this helps someone.

Hmnn. Not so funny when you have to use due to medical conditions.The saving is spot on wnen you have to buy a case(12 Cartons) at a time . 12X= £1.56 off the shopping bill!!.

Good to have one in your cupboard as a back up if you suddenly run out of milk. Wouldn't go out of my way for a carton though. Heat added.

Completely agree. If you happen to be in Lidl and are buying this stuff anyway then I'm sure you'll see this price when you get to it on the shelf...

gw1mcd has a point, but that's going to be a small percentage of people.

Did you get out of bed the wrong way? Who said you had to go out of your way? I pass by Lidl once a week and usually pick up fruit and veg. I will pick up skimmed milk too now as a result of this post. You are on the wrong site if you think a 25% saving (approx) is not worthwhile. I was looking to stock up anyhow - so good timing.

We don't drink much milk at our house so normal milk would just go to waste.

To be honest the difference in taste is not that bad. If you want bad tasting stuff try Soya milk!

UHT milk is completely sterile and therefore perfect for making your own yougurt (full of live probiotics). Lots of people here wouldn't know a bargain if it kicked them in the balls!
