Good deal. If your a busy working mum a slow cooker is essential...currys, hot pot, casseroles, chuck anything into it and you can go to work, pick the kids up and tea is sorted.

Please anyone that considers buying this... 6.5 litres is gigantic, you could bath a baby in it! I bought a great Frigidaire 5.5 litre one a few months ago and couldnt belive the size. I could fit two whole chickens in it if I wanted. Its really way too big for us, I wish Id bought a 3.5litre one which really would be big enough for two adults and two kids easily.

If anyone wants to swap their 3.5 litre one for my lovely only used once big one, pm me, lol!

You could, but they don't taste very nice, and social services might have a problem with it.
Beef is so much nicer.

I have one of these, and we use it once a month or so (2 adults, one child). It is big, but to be honest it lets us cook a large joint of beef (brisket is lovely done in it - and cheap too!) together with the veg. I doubt you'd be able to get two decent-sized chickens in it, though! Great too for soup (freeze what you don't need). Heat added.

I bought one of these in Debenhams on sale for £20, but this is still a good deal.

Many of them say they work to full capacity, though this is not true. For example the 3.5l model can only really be filled to just uner 3l, otherwise it boils over.

This 6.5l model is very big indeed and heavy, so be careful when handling. It also gets hot on the outside, so again be careful. You can fill it to 5 litres and it won't boil over. The only problem I have had is the lid does not create a seal, so when it is bubbling away you get water collection rolling down the lid, this then bubbles and can find its way onto your worktop. Other than that, it is great.

I easily fit in, 6-8 chicken portions, potatoes and vegetables. Enough for main meal one day, then a reheated meal with rice the following day.

LOL you're sick! When I took my slow cooker out of its box, the ceramic pot just looked like a baptism font or something, it was so huge lol. And the shape reminded me of a baby bath! ok maybe it's just my weird mind.... I'll get my coat
