Falcon MVIX MX-780 Wireless Media Streamer Centre - £149.99 Delivered @ Play & QuidCo

£149.99

FOUND BY: publicnme 1 year, 1 week ago

As per title really, I welcome all comments, hot or cold as I'm undecided which media device to buy and am tempted with this...

Possible 5% off code and Quidco make it a bit cheaper.

Sorry not quite sure why I would want one of these. I have a PC (basic spec) which cost little more than these devices. I have connected it to my tv, and wireless network. With this I can watch i player etc, download videos off the web and surf all on my tv.

Appreciate your comments, but not suitable for me. For 1 like you said, it did cost more. Is that including a genuine Windows licence? I've not got the room for a PC, I'm hoping to replace my DVD player really. Certainly don't want a keyboard/mouse lying around, though a keyboard probably is harder to loose down the side of the sofa. Rep left for you comments though.

Anyone got any personal experience of this device?

When did I say it was in the same price bracket? The deal is in the OP, it's by far the cheapest place I can find it at. And correct me if I'm wrong, but people are constantly comparing different kit, PS3/Xbox springs to mind.....

I'm still happy this the old Xbox 1 connected to my network streaming any media I want. For HD stuff I can connect the laptop (not cost much more than this) and watch that.

I take it this needs a hard disk on top?

No it doesn't need a hard disk, it can stream media from your PC. I also have a laptop I can connect, but the idea of getting one of these is that it remains plugged in and I don't have to worry about connecting the laptop to the TV, to the mains etc etc.

A basic xbox360 doesn't have wireless, so you'd have to buy the wireless adapter which is about £40, and then build a sound-proof box for it.
