yep works, they give you a student discount card! At my one in Southampton theres too many of us so they just keep a card at the tills so anyone who shows there Student ID get 5% off. BUT still there is a 5% STUDENT DISCOUNT CARD you can GET

I've got this card myself. It works like a staff discount card - it even says 'staff discount' on the register when it is used. It works for me in a non-university area too.

Yes, students are worse than poor. Poor means that you have little or £0. Students have debt which means worse than poor (negative cash). A student could run up to £30k debt in 3 years which means that it is an enormous debt burden. Anyone just try to save £30k before they go to uni, it is pretty hard for any one to save £30k cash.
