FOUND BY: Money Spinning 7 months, 2 weeks ago

The extra versatile V3380 charger offers 3 easy ways to charge your AA or AAA Ni-Mh batteries. Use with the supplied universal mains adapter (100~240V) anywhere in the world, or use with the supplied 12V car lead when on the move or use with the supplied USB lead for charging direct from your computer or laptop - the choice is really yours !
The new V3380 is a state-of-the-art AA and AAA battery charger. Equipped with Delta-V circuitry to help optimise battery life and also minimise charging times too. Extra safety features include bad cell detection and reverse polarity protection, thermal cut-out switch and timer protection too. This useful 3-in-1 charger automatically selects the correct charging current for either AA or AAA sizes and the built in Green/Red LED lights make using this unit pretty much fool-proof.
Charging times will vary from 2 to 6 hours depending on battery capacity and the charge state of the batteries used. When using with the 5 Volt USB lead, charge times will take longer as the input voltage is slightly lower !

I wouldn't fancy trying to charge batteries via USB

How good is the charge circuitry on this?

I know it has a load of features but do they work properly and look after your batteries?

Voting cold. Charging batteries (even high capacity rapid-charge ones) at rates of up to 1000mA, is going to kill them off pretty quickly. Lower capacity ones are going to get barbecued.

If the charge rates were user controllable, it would be great.

I do it on a regular basis, its a nice way to trickle charge them for use in a wireless keyboard/mouse. Don't see why its any different to charging from the mains, safer if anything.
