You are assuming that Comet have got the specification correct. The photo looks remarkably like the model Argos are selling:

with a quoted resolution of 480 x 234.

IMHO Comet have done a bad copy and paste of the specs of the 8" HDC8086:

http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/pro...tal-Photoframe

which looks 800x600 in proportion and is also "brushed aluminum - white" (in a way that doesn't look like black plastic)

Good investigative work... I did read the 8" version and thought it odd but didn't twig.. 8" it is, the 480x234's look shocking

Is it possible this is a different one to argos?

The 86 in the part number 7086 could mean 800x600.

I'll try and pop to my local comet today and take a look at the box/instructions and let you know.
