I had this on preorder with Amazon for £34 (misprice), but they are playing funny games with the preorders on it at the moment. This price is actually comparable - after Quidco it should be about £36, plus you get Waterstones points with it too (and free delivery) - less than half of the £75 RRP

You have to use the 20% off voucher to get this price - ZY6492 - which is valid until Sunday

Release date seems to be open to debate - Waterstones have it at 24/04/2009, whereas Amazon are saying 19 Dec 2008 - it would be nice if it was here before Xmas!

No the original one on Amazon UK was a US import book by Del Ray with the ISBN of 978-0345477637

Looks like Amazon UK have pulled the imports.


And Quidco may only go through as 4%

**Orders with Waterstone's will initially track in as a zero amount. They will be updated to the correct amount once your order has been approved and has been dispatched.

All sales made with any Waterstones voucher codes will be paid a cashback of 4%. Applies to all products apart from Sony Readers

Thanks for that info - a bit off that they haven't changed our orders to the UK version at Amazon - gets them off the hook though I guess.....

I chased this up with them - here's the reply:

I have looked into your enquiry regarding the item titled The Complete "Star Wars" Encyclopedia by Stephen J. Sansweet from your order number and I can confirm that the publication date is 24/04/2009. When we receive stock for this item we will ship the item to you immediately.

I have also double checked with our suppliers and they confirm that the release date is correct.



I have also emailed the publishers Titan and am awaiting their reply.

ggrrrr, that is really annoying, thought it might be out b4 Xmas. Thanks for the info though

Amazon have now officially cancelled my £34 pre-order and kindly pointed me towards the £48 alternative , so I'm glad I got this Waterstones order in now.....

Great - mine came this morning as well. Looking forward to opening them later and having a proper look through.

Amazon are still showing this as a pre-order, with release date as late April! Go figure
