It's an 'up to 60% off' deal.. and will be running up until and throughout the Christmas period; so you don't have to be quick as such, as the stock will be coming back in throughout the next 6 weeks.. although a lot of it will be bought up for Christmas presents, as is usually the case.

There's some good prices - previous top seller jeans dropped from £25 to £9 (clearing out for the newer stock); etc...

I can verify all of this, as I work in the Preston branch

Isn't this the shop with the perm-a-sale?
I thought 60% off was there normal price just to make it look like you're getting a bargain.
Or is it 60% off the 60% off price now making it 84% off?

The so-called perm-a-sale style of trading stopped about 4 years ago (after we got a slap on the wrists from trading standards); since then we've changed the style of clothing and the price strategy too (along with the target audience..)

Either way, the sale seems to be drawing you lot in, meaning somebody's going to be getting cheap(er) clothes for Christmas!

-- Ohh, and it used to be "Up to 70% off everything" (not 60%) ..and it wasn't ever marked down as an actual 'sale' - just customers mis-conceptions made it seem that way (which I guess was the idea, but still..); say loophole if you will; but that's all scrapped now.

The one time I remember shopping there, (about 15 years ago) the prices on the clothes where marked at £60 (for a pair of no brand jeans???) then you had to knock the 70% off yourself. Never been since then

I think it'll be safe to say you won't be finding anything like that again.. we've got a bit a more sense now -- the jeans that were at that sort of price were the ones that were being used as part of the trading standards loophole.

(think we had conversion charts up though, to help with the '70% off' conversions, too..)

I won't get into the whole branded/non-branded issue.. but you'll be surprised at what you can get there now; both price-wise and style-wise. Give us another go, eh!
