I was reading the Lidl weekly offers earlier this morning and I came across the deal.
It is from Monday 24th Nov. Instore only for only £32.99 with 3years warranty.

Exactly. Could, not does.
Its immediate predecessor was marketed specifically as a DivX DVD player, why would they make a conscious effort to remove any reference to what would be a major selling point if this model had it? It's probably like the £15 Tesco player in that it only plays XviD, not DivX.

Just buy it and if it doesn't give it back FFS! I bought a DVD player from them 4 yrs ago, a Targa which plays DivX, XviD fine!
