Looking for a 3 channel Micro Helicopter

POSTED BY: Copperface 1 year, 9 hours ago

Hi, I am looking for a 3 channel Micro Helicopter, preferably with a charger included.
There seem to be a lot out there but I'm just getting confused with all the specs and advice.
Looking to spend around 20 squids delivered - anyone able to provide advice on 1. which one to get and 2. where to get it.

Thanks in anticipation.

Thanks, great link.

Not too keen on the insect style though but DX also have this:

From what I can see it includes a charger in the handset.

Any opinions??

I have flown quite a few RC helicopters and would definitely recommend the Hobby Storm IV. Much better than the picoo helicopters...

Play have it for £17.99 at the moment but out of stock (http://www.play.com/Gadgets/Gadgets/...r/Product.html). It is definitely worth the money even at £24.99 where it is available elsewhere.

From what I remember, it was 3-channel, had beginner and expert modes, charged from the controller which took AAs, was very strong and flew well for about 15mins on each charge. It also came with spare main and tail rotor blades.

That's looking good, but as you say out of stock.
Do most of these come with a charger or do you normally use just rechargeable batts.
Noticed one of the DX ones came with 'special Jakarta Power' ones.....hehe.

Few, if any, RC helicopters around the £20 price range come with a mains charger for the helicopter. Most of the helicopters contain a small rechargeable battery which is charged from the controller. The controllers usually take 6 to 8 AA batteries (which can of course be rechargeable themselves).

I believe that the Jakarta Power batteries are just a brand of normal AA batteries and they are not included with the helicopter (they are shown inside a ring with sold separately in the photo).

That last one looks great.
(edited0 thanks for last reply - that is what i was going to ask.
Would really like one with a mains charger somewhere so will continue to look. I'm a bit flexible on the price for the right one so may be able to find one.
Thanks

Aha, this one has a mains charger - only con seems to be that you can't get spare blades (which I will undoubtedly need).
Anyone know if there are generic blades available as spares?

Apart from the charger, looks the same as the first one listed above - but that has a docking station - what does the docking station do??
