Klipsch Custom 2 Headphones £48.93 delivered at Amazon

£48.93

42°

FOUND BY: merlinthehappypig 11 months, 4 weeks ago

For anyone who liked the Custom 1's which were reduced at Amazon last week (now back up to £49.99) the Custom 2's have been reduced to £49.99. From the reviews they seem to be a good step up in quality from the Custom 1's and are £89.99 or more everywhere else I can find them.

Use the LOWERVAT code at checkout to get them to £48.93

Daren't get them myself - I already have 4 different sets, but might be useful for someone.

I hope these are a huge amount better than the custom 1's I bought last week, which even at the bargain price of £17.99 were beyond disappointing and returned to Amazon....... If they are, then a genuine bargain.........

The problem with the Custom 1's seems to be that they are a very fussy fit. On first listening I felt the same way as you do. Get them to fit right, however, and they are great. Having had them a week or so now, I can't quite decide whether I like them or not.

Get them in the ear properly and sit still and the sound is fantastic, but they do, for me anyway, tend to come out or shift in the ear when moving about. When that happens the sound quality drops a lot.

So - fantastic sound when they are fitted properly, but against that is the fairly frequent re-adjustment, expecially if doing something manual like gardening or mucking out animals. The PX100's I love aren't as good as the Custom 1's when fitted properly, but just sit there doing their stuff without me needing to adjust them.

I also purchased a pair of the custom 1's and was very disappointed with the non-existent bass!
Fit was fine personally, it was the sound i disliked.
Good price for these though, although not sure how they rate.

As I said in the original thread, these have plenty of bass if fitted properly. Not quite as much as the CX300's, for example, but most headphones at this price are lots of bass and nothing much else. You will hear things with these that you didn't know were on the music before. I've been using them a lot with black/gothic metal and the bass is just fine.

It's not just a matter of getting them to stay in the ear, they have to seal. I had to use the largest single silicon fitting and give them a good shove into the ear.

It makes all the difference and they are streets ahead of anything else around at the price Amazon had them for last week. They are a pain, though, to fit properly and get them to remain fitted properly. Despite the great sound quality I wouldn't pay the £49.99 Amazon are asking now, though, because of how critical the correct fit is.

I'd use them ahead of anything else if I was just sat down, reading, commuting etc, but I'm back with the PX100's for mucking out the horses!

So I take it these would be a bit of a pain on the treadmill?

Depends how much effort you put in! They might be fine - the reviews seem to be either love or hate, largely based on the seal in the ear and whether you get bass or not. The one thing they don't suffer from, with a treadmill in mind, is the phonics when the wire gets touched. I can barely hear the music for all the interference from the CX300's wires when exercising.
