Aswe all know, Advent don't make their own laptops i.e. 4211m, 4213 are all rebranded.

So is this a rebranded Acer and if so, which model?

Anyone know how easy it is to replace ram on one if these.

I know some netbooks are a nightmare and sometimes not possible

Cheers

Decent price, the border round the screen looks daft though, obviously the housing was designed to hold the 10" screen

(I like the OSX background lol)

That looks a good deal for one of those things.

I can't really see the point of these mini laptops to be honest, 3/4 the price of a basic laptop, 1/2 the screen, 1/2 memory, 1/2 as good processor, 1/3 the functionality.

You have to take the base cover off, but the ram slot is then easily accessible and the hard drive with a little more effort if you want to put a bigger one in.

To read up on anything to do with the Wind/Advent/Medion, visit the forum at www.msiwind.net

I think it's a budget vesrsion of the MSI wind with a different screen, less memory etc..

If it turns out im right i used this guide for memory upgrade for a 4211 so it should be the same. http://netbookmag.com/2008/07/07/tut...rade-msi-wind/

can't find no mention of battery life or battery size, would be interested if I knew it lasted more than 3 hours.
