Because I watch mainly football, which my CRT delivers superbly, but from my friends Samsung LCD the motion blur from his Sammy means that I will only buy a 100hz LCD or plasma to deal better with fast moving images

Didnt vote for this tv, however the deal itself is hot as far as this television goes but the tv is poor. Everyone seems to go for the "sony" make however this particular series of tvs has an inherant problem with motion blurring and smearing "apparently" due to firmware issues but i believe it is just the panels, i am a regular poster on AV forums ontop of the fact i spend days on end looking on tvs... why? cos im weird =(

Due it being a 1080p screen also, if your planning on watching it for normal television this tv will actually perform WORSE than a hd ready ( 720p ) set due to the image needing scaling twice as far referring back to my post here

http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/sho...85#post3422385

I explain why. But essentially If you want a tv for simply tv or games consoles look at the "hd ready" sets instead. I personally prefer all the plasma televisions the Panasonic px80 is a good bet and beats this television around quite a bit. The LG42PG6000 plasma is also a great television.

If you want a computer monitor or a set for *only* blu rays then i would personally take a look at the samsung sets they deal with motion much better and have better black levels. Ontop of the fact they support 1080p over VGA computer connection which no other televisions seem to do.

Any questions feel free to PM me but i personally DONT rate this set. But if you must have a sony then i guess heres your chance for under £600

I bought this tv under the £599 deal with an extra £99 for the Sony BDP-350 Blu Ray player and it gives an astonishing hi-def picture. Voted hot.

I had this TV a couple of months back from Empire Direct for £599 with 5yr warranty. Fantastic TV. If you have the TV setup correctly, there will be no motion blur at all. HD looks fantastic - extremely crisp and smooth, and SD is really good too, even on poorer channels. The only TVs imo that gave as good a picture cost nearer £1000. I'm surprised no joker has come along yet saying full HD isn't important on a 40" :D

I agree! This TV has a fantastic picture if set up correctly. I have compared many TV's in deciding to buy this, and even now still compare, I have yet to find one that has a better picture for the price! I look at friends and familys tv's which were all more expensive and cringe at the picture quality and feel safe in the knowledge I picked the correct one!
