When your product breaks down it doesn't just mean expensive repairs bills - it's a big headache too. But with our Breakdown Cover you can relax. We'll fix the problem quickly and the repair will either be carried out at your home by a qualified engineer, or we'll arrange for a courier to collect the item from you. Generally, we pay the repairers for parts and labour, so you have no bills to pay, however in some cases the customer will be required to pay and then claim back for money paid out.

We offer cover for up to 3, 4 or 5 years, depending on the item's manufacturer's guarantee. We will tell you what cover is available when you buy an item from us either in-store, over the phone or online. We even throw in accidental damage cover for the first 12 months on your product! Breakdown Cover can be taken out when you purchase your item in store, over the phone or online, but you also have up to 45 days in which to purchase it, just return to store with your item's till receipt.

If you buy a TV which has a two year manufacturer's guarantee, you can then buy a 4 year Breakdown Cover policy, which will provide cover against mechanical breakdown and failure for a further two years on top of the manufacturer's two year guarantee.

I thought everyone was aware of this. I got this cover on my argos 42LG500. IMO this makes any argos TV more attractive.

I work for Argos and it's the first I've heard about this. lol? Although I'm aware of a similar deal on ex-display TVs at the end of a catalogue's lifespan.

Replacement Product Cover starts at £0.99 and ends at £149.99. That's on most electrical items, so if your microwave cost less than £149.99 then you are correct.

Breakdown Cover starts at £150.00 onwards.

Just phoned this up to try and cover my Humax PVR purchased on the 19/01/2009 and was told the scheme was stopped on all purchases after the 16/01/2009.
