Not a ****-lickingly good and evangelical as some people think but as TV series go it is an extremely fine example of what emotional, powerful, intricate and thrilling storytellling the medium can sometimes be capable of.

So, yes, it is. Not a 'dipper' of a series though, more a several eps in one sitting type. Plus the dialect can be tough if you're not a street smart playa like what I are.

Yo blood, you should be chatting what I IS, not what I are.

You're right about buying the lot though. I watched season1, missed season 2 because my sky box broke and ended up buying it on dvd. Gradually bought the lot and was only missing season 4 - thanks to this post in around three weeks I shall be the proud owner of the lot.

You're wrong about it not being as good as some people make out. At the risk of nailing my colours to the mast, it is the best TV show ever.

It's a great series, but I don't agree with all the hype around it on various forums. Season 1 is a slow-burner and quite dark/dreary (I suppose that's down to the setting). Season 2 I thought was much better, in terms of characters, storyline and dialogue. Just started Season 3 and so far it's closer to the first season in watchability - very enjoyable but in no way on a par with the like of Oz, the Sopranos, or West Wing.
