The DADDY of DJ turntables (must be the mk II but the site doesn't state) but only 3 left...
If anyone buys that item it has to be in quantities of 2 surely.

EDIT: still voted hot btw - I sold a pair that were 10 years old for £450.

I'm sorry but that is quite wrong, not only was the SL1210 in service with over 5,000 Broadcast Authorities, but its platter was used on most Disc cutting lathes too, because a belt couldn't hold the speed accurately. It is and was a masterpiece and it's as good as the best ever made.

The fact that that the SL1210 was the most reliable and successful turntable of all time and judged by experts as the best should not be forgotten because it proved indestructible in the hands of DJs.

The deck was never designed primarily for DJs only originally - it subsequently was adopted by that user group due to the deck's many strengths - the high quality motor, timing and build not least.

Doesn't make my statement wrong though does it.
People who buy that deck (or the better looking SL1200) nowadays will require 2 because as underlined by rizla01 there are far more highly regarded turntables for the audiophile.

And regarding it being the DADDY of DJ turntables... well it is!

It's also a rather functional platter if you want to give your goldfish dizziness issues, or a seasonal spinning base for your 3ft christmas tree - If you want it to be.

Just because a rotund cross-dressing fifty year old could wear a wonderbra wouldn't mean that it wasn't the cleavage-enhancing bra of choice for young ladies on it's release would it.

Editor David Price says in part of his reply to a reader's letter:
"The third way is a new SL1210 with an Origin Live Technics adaptor, an Audio Origami RB250 (or similar) tonearm, Isonoe isolation feet and a SoundDeadSteel platter mat - giving you the set-up I'm running right now. In most respects, it has comfortably seen off most high end turntables it's been up against(...)" (August issue HFW page 105)

shurley if your after a top audiophile deck Linn Sondek LP12 would be better also lot more expensive this realy is a DJ deck but still one of the best in its class but would not class it as audiophile deck as there are a lot of better sounding decks if you have the money. But you would not use Linn Sondec LP12 as DJ deck lol voted hot as great price for this deck

I'd have a fast car if I took a Mini Cooper S body, but replaced the engine with that of a Zonda and everything else from a Ferrari F50GT
Doesn't make my original Mini a world-beater
