It has a monocyrstalline solar panel on the front. This absorbs the sun's energy, transferring it into an electrical charge which is stored in a power pack, hidden inside. Notice that this doesn't give the most vital statistic: how much power it produces - so expect it to be tiny. I'd be surprised if it even prevented a powered mobile phone discharging.

Anyone know how much those solar panel chargers for an MP3 player are on their own? I would guess their about the same price as this bag.

thought you could get the solar panel by itself and attach to a bag, very useful for stuff like duke of edinburgh where breaking up hours of walking with a few banging tunes is infinitely helpful
