The black and decker outlet in the Lakeside at Doncaster has this for £15 bundled with a Cordless screwdriver, pretty useless info if you don't live near there but better value if you do....

Looks like another gadget I could do with, cheers. Any idea how it attaches to the wall?

The stud, pipe and wire detectors on these aren't even as good as to be called useless!

you attach it to the wall using the first screw or nail you've already put into the wall. It has a couple of different "cones" that you put over the screw before hanging the unit on that.

I have one of these, its very useful. I found the stud detector particularly good when hanging heavy stuff that needs a screw straight into the stud (which are the vertical wooden struts in your partition walls).

This would not reliably detect electricity cables that were quite deep, say beyond 20mm or so, but it does say that in the spec.

One minor limitation is that you cannot do vertical laser lines (plumb lines) like some of the other models. They don't seem to do a model that has everything, funnily enough...

Comes with a carry pouch and battery. I paid a tenner for mine, but it was at a clearance centre.

Not exactly building site strength and quality but great for DIY.

not entirely true, but if you primarily need an electrical detector, i would go for a dedicated unit which are cheap.

Stud detection is fine though.

Got one of these for a similar price at the Argos clearance shop.
I must admit having used various other laser levels I hoped it was going to be half descent but sadly if your a serious DIY'r or semi pro workman I'd give it a miss.

I found the horizontal self adjusting laser level to be very temperamental and could not rely on it being accurate.

Good price but not a serious piece of kit considering it's original price.
