Vote it cold if you can find it cheaper but don’t vote it cold for those two ridiculous reasons.

£100 cheaper than Richer Sounds so a good deal.

For serious AV equipment £300 is not a lot for a DVD player and this is a Blu Ray. Why vote cold if you don't understand the appeal of the item????? Some people like to hear sound and watch a moving image and are happy with a supermarket £20 DVD and £50 hi fi. Others appreciate sound and visual quality and will pay more.

This is a "deals" website and that doesn't have to mean "cheap s**t"!

I've voted hot as it's a good £50 cheaper than i can find it elsewhere, I have to say voting something cold because you'd get another product like ps3 or because you can get a dvd player cheaper (even though this is a bluray player) is just silly.
This is the best deal around for this product, therefore it's a hot deal.

Whats the point in spending all that money on a fancy DVD player when this time next year you will be able to buy one for £19.99. I am holding off until then before I buy one.

I am fed up to the back teeth with people telling everyone you can only vote something cold if you can find it cheaper elsewhere So if something gets a bad review and as long as it’s the cheapest you can find it has to be voted hot I don’t vote cold unless it’s of interest to me & is plainly a bad deal NOT voted

Hot deal! I've been waiting for this to come back into stock.
Here's a review: http://whathifi.com/Review/Panasonic-DMP-BD55/

Those people who don't understand why it's worth paying £300 shouldn't vote. I don't understand why people should want megafast graphics card or tooposh makeup and so don't vote.

Worth mentioning that the Sony BDP 550 is also worth a gander and is £80 cheaper. http://whathifi.com/Review/Sony-BDP-S550/

It's a good deal for this player and the cheapest I've seen so far.

I actually had my mind set on getting one of these, but in the end chose the Sony S550 [same spec] as I didn't really see the point in paying the extra after carrying out a lot of research online.

Plus points for the Sony over the Panasonic [apart form being much cheaper] are, better build quality, quieter, faster startup.

And BTW, unless you need the analogue outputs] then the even cheaper Sony SD350 has exactly the same internals otherwise!

Both Sonys and Panny can be made multiregion for DVD playback using 'One 4 All' remotes.

Should also have said that the offer for 2 free BRs on the Panny website is no longer valid - was for purchases up until 24th December and claims were to have been received by 31st December....

...unless they have renewed it of course

you'll never buy technology mate. fyi, this player can be categorised into a sub-intermediate player available out there. slightly better that the beginner's ones (bd30/35/s300/s350/etc). i've got pio's bdp-lx71 which cost me around £650 couple of months back and this is also can be categorised as an intermediate bd-player. if you're after a viewing and listening experiences and care about the very quality of your audio and visual setup, you'll find that cost is not the main thing. try to search about this player though...denon dvd3800bd...or pioneer bdp-lx91 (which i'm after right now). each costs about £1500

because you want to enjoy 1080p now and decent audio codecs and you have a decent tv, well worth it, this model will never be £20 unless it's faulty!
