Clearly my Google-Fu has failed me this morning. Anyone else going to rub my nose in how I could have gotten this cheaper?

Or spend a few quid more and get the next model - SD580 - for £49.99 delivered directly from Toshiba. http://www.home-entertainment.toshib...special-offer/ Enter BOXOFFICE3 as a code.

[although this was a 'Boxing Day' offer, I've tried it just now and it still works OK]

Better job IMHO as it also includes a USB socket for playing video files etc from a memory stick

Amazon price is nearer £60 for the 580 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Toshiba-SD58...0598087&sr=1-1

Have used Superfi before - no problems, good service. The item i bought was a 'return, graded product' so watch out for this although i did know this when i ordered.

For those of us not familiar with upscaling, will there be any really visible difference if using this with a Samsung 4 series 37 / 40" (HD ready), or is it pretty marginal ? I have a Panasonic HD recorder that I normally use, and am wondering whether to get this as an extra just for the upscaling capability on bought DVDs ??
