Refund To Paypal - Place On Hold?

POSTED BY: shauneco 1 year, 2 months ago

I had a refund from Memorybits as they had no stock, I'd paid by Paypal and they've refunded me via Paypal.

Anyway Paypal have placed the refund on hold,

"Temporary Hold Information: This temporary hold was placed because your Direct Debit or Bank Funding payment was denied, cancelled, or refunded. The funds from this payment cannot be released until they have arrived from your bank account, which usually takes 7-9 working days.
Subject:
You have sent £17.00 GBP to PayPal with PayPal"

My bank was debited for the £17.00 a couple of days a go, How long does it usually take Paypal to update and release my funds?

I hate Paypal

Wow, £11000 and over 6 weeks you must of been well chuffed, I bet £100 compensation didn't make you much happier?

Doesn't sound good for me then, Luckily it's only £17.00.

Thanks

i had this happen to me ..even thought the money is out of your bank account it takes "up to 7working days"for it to reach paypal......so even though you had a refund ..the original payment that was made was made by paypal...then they take the cash from you..they wont have recieved that payment yet...even if its out of your bank account............thats where it all goes slow!!!!!!!!!!it took about 10 days for mine to sort itself out..

it can take upto 21 days for this to be sorted i had same problem when i bought a credit note n here from someone for over 300 quid they changed their mind and said it was lost on the way to the post office and refunded me... i waited and waited then sent a few letters to paypal asking why it took so long when bank transfers are all pretty much instant these days and added a bit of a rant and they released it!!!

is yours on hold for same reason or not?

if you can refund 1p it can release your funds or it used to

you mean you sold an item and it was put on hold?

standard ebay/paypal practice for most high priced items these days on hold for 21 days or gorra wait for positive feedback even then it takes a while...

youve gotta have 100 feedback or so to not have it happen

just refund the buyer 1p and should release your funds.....unless theyve pulled the glitch

This is an old thread, anyway in answer to your Q, maybe they have found out and finally closed the loophole and about time, it's there for a reason.
Send the item and let PP take it's course. If you wait longer than 7 days you loose seller protection. Also buyers will open disputes which will increase the odds of this happening again, as it won't look good.
If I were a buyer no way would I leave FB, on high value goods until they were received. The fact is fb is irrelevant PP can still open a dispute and refund. I still would not do it and to be honest from the buyers point of view it would make me worry you were a scammer...........

This has happened to me now. brought an item on ebuyer £500 laptop.

Purchase refused because my address in Paypal has my street directly after the house name. In ebuyer its on two separate lines.

Anyone offer any advise in speeding up the process? Name of CEO?

Help...
