A speed test of this on a PCMCIA adapter card vs. WD 320gb Scorpio would be nice

Give it a little while.

CES 2009 just saw details of 2tb SD cards & sticks coming. 2yrs they reckon.
http://crave.cnet.co.uk/accessories/...9300513,00.htm

They are keeping the same connection interface as regular SD cards but bandwidth/transfer speeds are on the way up too (300mbps - way ahead of what Blu-ray can manage).

32gb & 64gb drives/cards to get cheap this year (look how cheap even 16gb drives now are)

Who needs old faschioned discs?

7MB/s write speed is very modest (i.e. slow) and you can bet your life that it will be closer to 0.5MB/s for smaller files. Not my idea of a "good quality" flash drive. More like a budget model.

7MB/s write speed is quite slow indeed. My OLD Kingston 1GB pen drive can match it.

Pretty good, I would not use it for readyboost though. Performance increase isn't really worth it, great for extra storage though!

Why bother paying thirty odd quid for a USB drive for Readyboost when you could just go out & get 4 Gig of RAM for a similar price...
