celeron cpu is a very low end cpu, you will need at least 2gig ram for vista, and as it isd dual core you can run 64bit vista or 64 bit xp, if you us standard 32bit xp / vista you will not get the use from both cores

That's tosh. 32bit windows will use both cores. Don't disagree on the RAM, though it will be usable as is.

This system doesn't seem amazing considering a year ago I got an HP dx2250 with AMD 5000+, 2GB RAM, and a 250GB hard disk for about £180. Granted the AMD probably isn't *that* much faster, and there was a rebate back then. But a year on and effectively the same money?

i am using a q6600 quad core and vista 64bit uses it better than 32bit xp /vista
runs faster boots quicker, everything about is it quicker
oh i am using OCZ platinum 1066mhz 4gig
mobo is ASUS formula maximus II
