Tesco Christmas: Scottish All Butter Shortbread Collection misprice Was £7.99 now £1.99

£1.99

221°

FOUND BY: davidjohn 10 months, 2 weeks ago

This is on the clearance isle instore in Stockport off Portwood roundabout, it was £7.99 (coughs rip off) was reduced to £3.99 (coughs still rip off) but for some reason scans in at £1.99

The tin is nice enough I suppose but seriously who would have paid the full £7.99? obviously not many.

After North Sea Oil, Shortbread(or 'Shortie' as it's coloquially known) is our next biggest export

or if you're not interested in the pretty tin you could get 500g for ~20p

9oz flour
6 oz butter
3oz sugar

knead well
press into a baking tray
put it in the oven for half an hour at 150°C

eat.

Well if you can buy butter for about 40/45p per 500g then you probably can, if you get gas or electricity for free too. Applies to most things - I am sure even that price could be beaten - why not keep a cow and milk it to make the butter first? How ridiculous do we have to get - It is not much of a valid argument in my mind.

A 200g plain pack of Scottish Shortbread is 59p at Lidl, and very nice it is too, at what I would say is a very cheap price, so this offer would appear to be close to that, so I say get it while you can, if you want the box!

Your "cow and milk" quip made me laugh.
Had a vision of the cow being milked in the kitchen!
Thanks for the heads up on Lidls 59p shortbread.Forgot about that.
Got 400g from the 99p shop before Xmas.
