EXPIRED - Sentry Safe 33Litre 2hr Fire and Water Resistant Safe £620 elsewhere, £189.99 at Amazon delivered!!

£189.99

437°

FOUND BY: thepharmacist 5 months, 3 weeks ago

STARTS: 09/01/2009   EXPIRES: 31/12/2009

Have been looking for a while for a good safe, been looking everywhere and finally bought one from amazon for £280 6 weeks ago which was the cheapest place by far and many other were coming up at £400 by the time delivery was included. Now shocked to find it at £199.99!!

This think is heavy and definately needs two people two lift unless you are the worlds strongest man/woman!. With the number of house burglaries increasing, then at least having all those important possesions and those valuable photos stored on a backup drive in the safe will mean all is not lost.

Also made sure that the safe is fire protection AND water resistant as had seen some were only fire resistant, which means your things are safe till the fire brigade arrive............................!!!!!!!

Just my thoughts, if you can find a better deal please post link, so everybody can benefit.

Cheers

thepharmacist

If its your first big price drop on an amazon item sometimes at their discretion they will honour a refund if you send them a nice email. I know they have ended the 30 day price drop policy but sometimes if you email them they honour a price drop in certain circumstances.

BTW check the cylinder keys in it are the bic pen proof ones .

have to say when they deliverd ours, the guy asked if I would help him as the instructions on the pack were for a two man lift and he was alone, felt sorry for him as he was quite a small chap. Between the two of us we managed it..... but lets put itthis was, now it is installed it will not be moving again!!

I've been thinking about getting one of these to protect our valuables (camcorder tapes, photos etc). I can't tell (from the Amazon site) if the capacity is enough for what I'd like to secure though.

Edit: Ah... It doesn't look like these are suitable for tape media. (source: www.sentrysafes.co.uk)

Will send an email now, cross my fingers

Dont now about this, did have a look at link, says bike locks, but then talks about barrell locks, dont know the answer, but alot of people on that website saying that any lock given enough time and patients can be broken into, so all safes may not be safe?

We had the same thoughts, but are now having all of our photos scanned in also our negatives, think the negative device is a veho, seeing as we have the photos scrolling over the TV screen though our PS3, otherwise we would never really look at the photos, trying to go space age as you can tell!

Same here. I haven't got around to scanning all of our photos in yet, but I've copied all of my video tapes (VHS, 8mm, Hi8, MiniDV and HDV) onto my backup hard disk, but I'd like to keep the original tapes locked away securely. I'd hate to lose them, as they date back to when I was 18 years old (some 19 years ago!), and I have footage of all three of my kids, from birth.

The only problem with getting a safe, is that it shows there's something worth nicking :S ... I never put a lock on my cases when going on holiday etc etc. As soon as you increase security it's obvious you have something to protect!

Though I doubt most home burglers will be equipped with the relevant cutting gear!

hot deal

As most banks are now paying near enough 0% interest on savings it might be a good idea to get this to keep your cash, gold bars, deeds the odd diamond neckalace and bonds in. I think I've been watching too many action/thriller/spy movies.

I got a much smaller one for about £40 from Homebase which just holds my passport, other docs, spare keys and external hard disk. It's screwed into the bottom of my wardrobe and hidden under shoes etc.

Well worth it for peace of mind as it's fireproof too
