Nokia 5800 XpressMusic Sim Free (RED) - £449.99 @ Play - TO GET IT EARLY

£449.99

FOUND BY: amzmalhotra 10 months, 1 week ago

It seems that Play.com are selling the red version of the phone for a way hiked up price of £449.99. Thats £200 above nokia's rrp!!!

The release date is 27th February, so some how play.com have got some stock 1 and a half months early!

So if youre one of those people who has to get everything before everyone else. Here is youre chance.

However, £200 extra just to get it a month and a half before everyone else; its just not for me. I know most people will probably shoot this down as cold. But I just thought some of those people who are extremely desperate for the phone may benefit.

NB. The black and blue versions on play.com do not have stock

Also worth mentioning, that this isnt a 'comes with music' bundled phone, neither is the nokia shops version when it launches later this month. It was a feature that was one of the biggest selling points of the handset, so dont know why its been dropped for the launch.

Youll notice how I did not think the premium was a bargain. But I thought that some people may benefit as the phone is not out for 1 and a half months.

It won't be launched this month and there will almost certainly be the option of the music bundle on payg. It's been released already elsewhere in the world so assume Play are importing these, hence the high cost. Pretty sure I read when Nokia announced this last year that it would retail at a lot lower price than those mentioned abover. £150 IIRC, though a pound isn't worth what it was these days...

official Nokia launch price is 279 euros, but the euro has bombed in value since, so it will be around £250 on average at release.

I am keen to get one though, it just depends if a particular network will get exclusivity.
