I would not go by what you see in your local store, they sometimes have the displays set up wrong and ones that they make the most profit on can be the ones that are setup to look the best!

In my local currys the big LG screens look better than the rest as they are all hooked up to skyhd and the others are watching the same channel on freeview.

I did see that just now actually. Bit vague on the time (14-21 days or something) but express type deliveries are at a cost. Anyone know how much?

As this could be an ex-display item its worth remembering the half life of plasma panels. If this has been left on 24/7 for 6 months or a year it could have used up a chunk of its useful life. Worth asking for clarification before you take the plunge.

True, clarification of previous use (or if it's just clearance stock) would be nice. Still, plasmas can go into the 10's of 1000's of hours.

Typically 60,000-100,000 hours for a plasma now.

rectangular pixels, and 1080i - it's not the very best of specs, although I hesitate to judge without being able to see it running in person.

The USB interface is a nice touch though - i wish more manufacturers would go the way of putting stuff like this in. Someday, 802.11g connections in TVs :D hopefully anyhow, lol.
