Never believe or take any notice of the "was" price in JJB stores. I used to work for them and it was common practice to massively overprice goods (50%-100%) for the first week then drop them down to their normal selling price thereafter. It was done purely to give the customers the illusion the cheap tat they were buying was worth a lot more. Most of the time the pretend discount price was still way over what the item was actually worth. I can't speak for these particular clubs but generally the Slazneger clubs we sold were rubbish.
