Can't find this at Samsung UK, but only the analog version of this the SM2343NW. And, no reviews either.

Next best prices delivered seems to be at OYYY for £175.70 OR LambdaTek for £172.86. eBuyer has it for a shade over £187 & no user reviews.

yeah the monitor was just released so unfortunately I could not find any reviews or anything! My current 22" is a Samsung 223BW and I've been quite pleased with it though so I'm stoked to see how the 23" is :D

I am having a real tough time choosing which monitor to get. This deal looks pretty hot! I was considering the Dell or the recent Iiyama 24". I think £250 is my limit, any ideas?

Got mine delivered today and it's beautiful!
The clarity of a .249 dot pitch monitor is incredible.....need to upgrade my vid card to a 1gb now (currently have a 4870 512mb) although I was quite surprised that I still get around 100fps in CoD4 with 4xAA, impressive for 2048x1152!

And widecreen 16:9 gaming is great, at this high resolution you really have a lot of nice peripheral vision in FPS games :D

Here are some pics, pretty terrible but better than none eh? ....argh, and I already see some cat hair on the screen!

The buttons in the 2nd pic are actually touch activated, pretty cool but a bit hard to see in dim lighting.

I got the Dell as a screen for a Mac Mini and it's fantastic. Lovely feather touch controls too!

However, it is a glossy screen, wonderful for movies or in a dim room but will be reflective so not ideal if you've a window behind you. Still recommended.

Have you tried the mike on the dell?

Sounds like a decent monitor, especially the pixel density

I just bought one of these a few days ago, and recieved it on tuesday, the delivery from morecomputers was great!

Impressions on the screen.
At native resolution the windows on screen look great, you get plenty of screen real estate to use, and samsungs multimonitor software offer a good way to arrange your stuff on all those pixels. The text is quite small on the screen but not overly if you have decent eyesight (or a good optician )

The height adjustment and rotation is something that i think you will use once, and then not again, but for those wondering it sits as low as about 3 inches, and then moves up so the screen is roughly 12 inches from the base!!

I was slightly worried about gaming on this screen, as i was used to gaming at 1440 x 900. Initially i ran COD4 at native resolution (i was surprised it supported it) and on my card (8800gts) it looked and ran great.
I then wound it down to 1920 x 1080 and i couldnt really tell the difference in the graphics, then finally to 1440 x 900 and i have to say, i expected it to look terrible not running at native, but the monitor scaled it really really well.

Finally, i ran my 360 through it at 1920 x 1080 thru vga and initially the dashboard could have looked sharper, but once i fired a game on it looked great (much better than my 32" 720p LCD tv)

Good price, voted hot! Though take into consideration that the resolution is a bit too high for that size screen imo. Let me explain:
Bigger doesn't always equal better. Because of the higher pixel count it will make text/images very small (even when adjusting the dpi) which probably not good when working or surfing the web as it may cause unnecessary eye strain.

Also 1080p being pretty much Industry standard now, the media you play with it might end up looking a bit blown up resulting in a bit of loss of detail in full HD content. Standard defintion will look even worse (e.g. watching youtube videos in full screen). This is because the monitor will need to enlarge the smaller resolution to the fit the panels pixel count. Therefore making lower bitrate content defects much more apparent and will soften the image.

Not sure if this has 1:1 pixel mapping but it might help if you dont mind the black borders. And like the post above you will need a good graphics solution otherwise the extra pixels onscreen will be wasted.

I'll try and take some pictures tomorrow if i get a chance.

The pixel pitch of this screen is about 0.25, so if you have a look at this url you should be able to get an impression of how small text will be if you have used a screen with a similar pitch.

For a test i adjusted the font size - dpi to 125% in vista and the text to me looked larger than it did on my 19" widescreen, so it definitly WILL make the text larger (clues in the name), but the text on this website for example was readable at normal distances at the standard DPI.

As for watchin 1080p, the xbox looked amazing (you could tell on text that it was scaled, i will try to take a picture of that as well) and i tried a 720p mkv of the original Narnia film and it looked really good. Standard definition movies looked as good as they had on my 19" (but bigger - using GOM player).

Well, while what you say me be true technically I can reassure potential purchasers that there is no visible difference in quality between the dell 23" and my Dell 24" 1920x1080. You tube HD looks great on it, You tube SD looks duff but then it looks duff on any monitor, SD DivX looks fab and HDDVD/BluRay on played through my LG combi drive look excellent. I believe this is the same panel as the Dell.

What make you think they're the same panel lester? They have different response times and contrast ratios, albeit dynamic... I'd lv to save £50 and get this, but the pessimist in me is saying not to...

Does it not have an hdmi commection? What cables does it come with? Is it glossy like the dell or matte? I'd you had to get another, which would you get?
