Not bad as just for the battery's it would usually cost this

Contact your local fire brigade a d they will come to your house and fit as many smoke detectors as you need for free
They will also put them I'm all the rooms required (ie. Rooms with cabin beds or bunk beds and 1 per floor)

They will do a fire safety assesmemt identifying hazards and giving advice while there.base on what equipment you have and your house

Also the ladies might like to have some nice buff firemen round
