Am I missing something. How is this better than the Acer One for example?

In fact this does not seem to be expandable beyond 1gb of memory, and why do they almost all have this horribly low resolution screen?

1. It lighter
2. Its better made
3. Its smaller
4. The memory goes to 2gb (toshiba has to say 1gb as its the agreement with microsoft for all netbook manufacturers to get XP)
5. The resolution of virtually all netbooks, 8.9" and 10" is 1024x600 (except for 7" ones and the new Dell mini 12)

Like I said. This is for the portable crowd, not for the big screen resolution crowd

Yes I want a small one, but just wondered if this has a big enough edge over the acer as it sounds like the keyboard is fiddley, it is much the same weight. Does it have just the one memory card slot?

Not all that glowing.
thats for the linux on with half the memory and smaller hard disk
the reviews for this laptop were at the original price and some people feel cheated that toshiba, the king of laptops, is not innovating with its model, in design or features.

I say, at this price, with this build quality, and this size, there is nothing like it on the market.
But horses for courses. Some folk will like the Acer or the HP, better, etc.

The point of hotukdeals is to find an XP netbook anywhere for this price and then add in Toshiba quality.

The keyboad on the Acer is better. The toshiba NB100 keyboad is definitely fiddly. I had an Acer 150. However the best keyboards are on the 10" models, like the MSI Wind/Advent 4211 or the Samsung NC10 (or the now discontinued HP 2133).

It has one SD card slot.

For those who have this, what's the battery life like? How long do you usually get between charges? And does it have bluetooth?
