In store, the Chimay multipack of their three core varieties of beer, Red (Dubbel, 7% ABV), Blue (Belgian Strong Dark Ale, 9%), and White (Tripel, 8%). 2 330ml bottles of each, plus a Chimay branded glass.
One of seven trappist monk-brewed beers in the world, all three are regarded as among the world's finest beers.
Tesco charges £1.80 for the Red (weakest, and therefore cheapest because beer is taxed by alcohol strength), specialist beer dealers charge £2, £2.10, and £2.20 , so a good price for the beer alone is £12. The glass, which is essential for proper enjoyment of Belgian beer, is about £2.50-£3 worth. They also have a box with just 6*Red + glass at the same price, but obviously this is a better deal.
These beers are generally not discounted, so this is a good price. Only thing is I now have half-a-dozen spare glasses.....
