EXPIRED - Bargain fares to Hong Kong and Auckland

£483.00

20°

FOUND BY: leyscjd 10 months, 3 days ago

STARTS: 16/01/2009   EXPIRES: 21/01/2009

Qantas flights special offer already discussed, 299 Return to Hong Kong and 549 Return to Auckland. These flights are even cheaper when booked on expedia.com.au-as low as 267 to HK and 483 to Auckland with the current exchange rate. Limited availability with May departures only-HK only valid on 1220 from Heathrow/0735 from HK departing in May and NZ only available via Los Angeles, but these fares are too good to miss.

I can't find a single date at this price to nz. Can you offer any dates or do these prices actually exist?

I booked flights to Auckland when the original deal was posted on Saturday for 549. I just checked the exact same flights via Expedia.com.au and found them for 479. I could have saved myself 70 quid!! Hot deal for those who haven't booked yet but you need to be very specific when booking flights. What I would do is find the flights you want via the Qantas website, write down the departure and arrival times and search for those via the expedia site. It takes a bit longer than normal but is far worth it. Heat added.

Departing Friday 22 May and returning Friday 29 May from LHR to Auckland shows up as AU$1025, about 483 pounds. Plenty of other dates in May also seem to work.

Bah! This is a stonking deal. There may be more reductions to follow.

Im a kiwi working in the travel and enterainment tech industry and have seen no better deal. Admittedly its off peak (winter in NZ in that direction) but for this price who cares.
Be aware you need to act fast - connecting flights to nz or oz always have issues as you are competing with people booking from USA -> Auckland and vice versa, HK->sydney...etc... - who fill up the cheap flights on the last leg you want to do. Typically there are many many more connections out of London to USA and HK to allow a cheap fare on this side of thejourney, but the other side (with smaller airports and traffic) fill up fast as. The combined total of these 2 or 3 legs needs to be low to get the low fares.

e.g.a typical flight to OZ may be : LHR ->HK, HK->SYD. The LATTER part fills up faster as there are less cheap seats due to less flights doing that leg. And people wanting HK->SYD or SYD->HK use up those cheap fares fast as long haul is far less prevalent than medium or short haul custom. Same applies to LHR->LAX,LAX->AKL and similar. Anyhoo you get the idea of why its volatile.

Now the sad part - booked by whole family to go via AirNZ last week before these fares came out!
Thats HALF of what my fares were.... at trade rates....

Ah well - go for it!

The Expedia site is showing these flights as BA, not Qantas.
