Act5ive sub menas you don't need an amp I think.

It depends on what you're after. It looks as though you can have the subwoofer and 2 speakers going from this, but that would be a waste. To get the best, you would need a AV receiver to power these.

I think it is just the silver ones at that price at RS - but they may pricematch and give you £10 back ???

I bought a set recently using superfi price at RS to price beat which they did no problem for the black set (£199 black/£149 silver) so all in £136 and they are highly recommended.

the SuperFi price, includes FREE DELIVERY.

personally, Ive never asked for a PRICE MATCH myself, I can imagine the shop staff would look at you as if you are some kind of beggar !! LOL

nah , much prefer to just buy from the best place, and reward the people who are offering the best prices...... for sure, I wouldnt have the bottle to ask for a pricematch, just for £ 10 , when the item is already HALF PRICE (!!!) but thats just me........

(jamos are like £44 dearer then then tannoys)

I had trouble persuading Richer Sounds to price match. They say their policy includes the other retailers next day delivery - as Superfi don't charge delivery they added Saturday delivery charge on £15.

Quite bizarre, me thinks. Persuaded them to change their minds.

Thanks OP

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Jamo-A102HCS...dp/B000QEB270/

they have been cheaper but the pound aint helping us at the moment and i doubt the price will come down now, it be on the up and up :(

so im seriously thinking about the tannoys, £146 delivered and 5 year guarantee.

albeit the jamos looks nicer but idf the sound is similar then the tannoys are a dead cert!

I bought the EFX 6.1 speaker system, reduced from £250 to £116, back in August. To be honest, I kind-of wish I hadn't.

It's a decent speaker system, yeah, but I can't get over the principle of having five high tinny high-end units, and all the bass designated to a single woofer. Sure, it sounds good for movies, but for music, it just sounds weird. If I could turn the clock back, I'd have just bought three pairs of bookshelf or foorstanding speakers instead.

from what ive read about these 5.1 systems, they perform much better for movies then music
