the knives are ok - the block on the otherhand is utter carp - it feels like black painted balsa wood lol.

I bought this instore last week - took the knives out, they are on the magnetic strip on the side of the cupboard and the block, well that became firewood lol

Cheap knives are rubbish!!!!!
Much better off buying more expensive ones that will last longer.

These looked ok actually - I took them out of the box and they are extremely sturdy - no bend to them at all. They will last ages but will likely need sharpening often.
I think I'd invest in a magnetic knife rack rather than use the block though

Hot.

Bought some of these last week - actually, my boyfriend thought they would make a wonderful addition to my birthday gifts... they're sharp enough for general cooking, sturdy and worth a fiver. If you're a serious cook I would go for one of the better brands (take note boyfriend!) haha Buy if you need a new set of cheap knives x

I saw these in the St Mellons store cardiff. They said "maximum 2 per customer" maybe they don't want you stabbing more than 10 people.

(I'm assuming 1 kill per knife)

Normally I'd agree about cheap knives, but these at least are made in one piece of steel and so the handles can't snap off like the truly dangerous ones. A good deal for anyone who only does the occasional bit of chopping up or doesn't know if proper cooking is just a flash in the pan for them.

You only need one knife, a decent Chef's knife. You'd be better spending £5 on one good one.
