Am totally gutted at this. ordered my macbook last week! not even got it yet and its been outclassed!
Hi, You're covered by the Distance Selling Regulations 2000 for either seven or fourteen business working days whereby you can refuse the order for a full refund (think it's seven days). Refuse the delivery and you should not have to pay for return carriage. I was in a similar position having spent £2,000.00 on a machine that was discontinued after only a few months of buying. A refund was not an option for me however I am pleased with what i'd spent my hard earned cash on. They (Apple) really do make superb machines IMHO and I am converted from PC to Mac (think we're referred to as 'switchers').
Whilst it's frustrating (and I understand completely as mentioned above) that let's say for arguments sake a high-end machine one day is discontinued the following day or otherwise superceeded it's not possible to continually keep up with progression of technology.
Quad Core processors are hitting the market as we speak so the Core 2 Duo machines are already in the process of being superceeded no doubt.
Getting a good buy for your money is what i'd be concerned with as you'll never keep up with the way technology is moving that is unless you have got masses of cash and can afford to buy brand new machines as they hit the market (I do not and cannot do this).
One thing that confuses me is the warranty. Are all MB and MB Pros now shipping with a 3-year warranty or does this apply to Educational purchases only?. The Apple Care Cover that i'd bought was a major outlay in itself however I did not want to run the risk of not opting for this.
HTH.
